Into Math Concepts Validation
-
Background
After a successful design thinking workshop which resulted in five online concept videos for market validation for GK-8. The program team wanted to understand which online solutions would best increase user satisfaction, specifically, which kinds of additional student practice would be most useful to teachers.
-
Method & Materials
• Questionnaire Survey
• Short Videos of the product concept
• Follow-up questions after each concept video“It would be more interesting to students if these lessons were gamified, or they could unlock certain levels or math games as they completed the lessons. There are not a lot of self-motivated students in my school & they are more motivated to work if they have something to earn.”

Outcomes
• Some teachers and their students prefer to use printed books, and/or paper, instead of online practice. This finding is to be explored as to why teachers prefer students to work in print to practice Math and not online.
• The concept proposed by marketing was rated the lowest in grades 3-8. This concept will not be pursued.
• The interactive Games activities scored the highest among Grades k-2. The game concept is to be explored and more concepts tested
