Social Studies Module in Classroom

  • Background

    The Learning team wanted to observe how teachers would use the beta Social Studies module in the classroom and learn what resonated and what could be improved or eliminated.

    Teachers were required to plan and instruct using the Social Studies American Revolution module. The diary study methodology was used to collect qualitative data about user behaviors, activities, and experiences over a 5-month period.

  • Outcomes

    • Teachers provided an in-depth look into how they plan and use the HMH resources.
    • Teachers were made aware of more resources than when they used the previous Module version. The new layout and structure will be adapted to the revised edition.
    • The learning team will add the three different pacing options to all modules
